Shira Blazes a Trail for the DIY Nation

The next step in our digital evolution is to learn how to communicate effectively and develop strategic communication plans. We know how to use Facebook to communicate with our friends…now it’s time to use Facebook to deliver ideas, messages and movements. I’m not talking about protesting…I’m talking about proactively designing your own future. Who do…

Who do we learn from when the schools aren’t teaching this stuff?

Just last week I watched a professor tell his students that they won’t be learning in the classroom but rather they will learn from Google and the internet. Well, I’m glad the students are paying $20k/year to have their professor tell them to go to Google for answers.

What happens when education is too slow to reform? The people take over and start learning on their own.

So, rather than go to college and let your mind atrophy…

I propose you follow this role model for keys to the universe:

Media empress, Shira Lazar. For those of you currently following Shira this is no big surprise. Shira is the definition of a trailblazer…a social pioneer, if you will. Shira is a television personality, a digital broadcaster, a writer, and an overall social utility connecting people with top trends and pop culture.

Shira has been on the scene for a while now, working with ABC, CBS, and writes regularly for Huffington Post.  Shira exhibits the most important skill one must acquire in the new age: persistence.

Providing access to her life, Shira understands that her fans want to see what’s going on behind the scenes. Right now Shira is working on the Oscars with ABC.

Shira vlogs from inside her office, at her home and from global events she attends. You don’t have to be at celeb status to practice what Shira has perfected. Over the last 6 weeks or so, Shira increased her subscribers on Facebook from 25,000 to over 75,000. I’m going out on a limb and suggesting nobody has seen growth like that…correct me if I’m wrong.

  • Get a video camera which may be on your smartphone, a blog, and a YouTube channel.
  • Read all of Shira’s old material and catch up to where she is now. If you Google Shira Lazar you’ll be amazed at how much dynamic content is out there.
  • Follow Shira on Twitter, read her blog posts, check out What’s Trending, understand the method to her madness and you will learn how to be successful like her.

Shira has earned her seat at the round table through hard work, determination and persistence.
