If you can’t market yourself, how can you market something else?
Practice what you preach
If you’re trying to break into the marketing world make sure you’re active in the area you’re applying for. Your future employer will not hire you if you haven’t built your own personal brand yet. Likewise, the larger your digital footprint is the more money you will earn.
A prospective employer looks at your social media accounts and subscriber list as potential customers for their company. If you have zero followers, no personal blog, and quiet social media accounts the employer will look at you as a major expense to their company. They want to invest in a person who already knows what they’re doing and has something to bring to the table. They don’t want someone they have to train and spend resources on. You’re supposed to make money for them, not spend it.
